Made-to-order enquiry guide

Information We Need to Quote a Custom Bird Cage

Send the bird, dimensions, bar requirements, daily-care features, installation photos and delivery route in one useful first enquiry.

  • Written for bird owners and cage planners
  • Uses documented Bật Mạnh examples
  • Unknown specifications are not guessed

A useful custom-cage enquiry does not need an engineering drawing. It does need enough information to identify the bird, the available envelope, safe gaps, daily-care features and the route by which the completed cage or modules will reach the installation area.

Copy this short version into your first message

Bird species and quantity · intended use · target width × depth × height · indoor/outdoor environment · known-safe clear bar spacing · fixed/modular/please recommend · doors, tray and accessories · location photos · smallest access opening · delivery country and postal code.

1. Identify the bird and number of occupants

Send the accepted English or scientific species name if known, the number of birds and clear photographs. State whether the birds will share one space, occupy separate compartments or use a removable divider. For parrots, include the species and adult size rather than only “small,” “medium” or “large.”

Also tell us whether the bird is fully flighted, has an unusually long tail, has limited mobility or has previously escaped through a particular gap. This information does not replace veterinary or welfare advice, but it helps prevent a decorative reference from becoming the only design input.

2. Describe how the cage will be used

  • Primary daily enclosure, overnight cage or supervised short-duration cage.
  • Flight or conditioning layout with a clear route between principal perches.
  • Breeding or multi-compartment system.
  • Indoor aviary, covered outdoor enclosure or garden aviary.
  • Wall-mounted installation with fixed or removable acrylic protection.
  • Travel, show or frequent relocation requirement.

The same outside size can produce a different interior when it contains a divider, heating zone, play top, seed guard or several service doors.

3. Give dimensions in a defined order

Use width × depth × height unless another order is clearly labelled. State whether the dimensions are a maximum outside envelope, a required usable interior or an existing product size used only as a reference.

MeasurementWhat to send
Available installation spaceWidth, depth and height, plus clearance needed to open doors and remove trays or acrylic.
Target cage sizeMetric dimensions and, for US projects, inches as a second reference.
Usable interiorAny minimum clear dimension required after stands, tray housings and dividers are excluded.
Door openingRequired clear width and height for bird transfer or large accessories.
Working heightFloor-to-cage height where a stand, wheels or wall rail is required.

Photograph the intended position with a tape measure visible where possible. For a corner or wall-mounted cage, show both adjacent surfaces and the clear space above and to each side.

4. Separate bar diameter from clear bar spacing

Provide a known-safe spacing from a cage already used successfully, or ask the workshop to review the requirement for the identified bird. Measure the clear gap between bars, not centre-to-centre distance. State whether the bar is solid or tubular if you are requesting a specific construction.

Doors, feeder openings, tray guides, dividers and detachable joints can create different gaps from the main bar field. Mention any part the bird is likely to chew, lift or manipulate. A previously published Bật Mạnh spacing remains a reference for that configuration, not a universal recommendation.

5. Choose a construction direction—or ask for a recommendation

  • Fixed welded: useful for compact cages that can be delivered as one body.
  • Modular / detachable: useful for long cages, restricted access and enclosures assembled at the final location.
  • Please recommend: send route measurements and tell us how often the cage may be moved.

Read Welded vs Modular Bird Cages for the full trade-off. Do not request “flat-pack,” “folding” or “tool-free” unless that specific function is necessary; each term describes a different type of product.

6. List daily-care and security requirements

Doors and locksMain door, bird-transfer door, feeder doors, bird-resistant latches and lock access.
Waste systemOne-piece or divided trays, pull direction, floor grille and paper-liner size.
Food and waterInternal or external access, number of cups and whether doors must lock.
Perches and toysRequired number, diameter, position and clear movement route.
Mess protectionSeed guard, splash guard, fixed acrylic or removable acrylic frame.
MobilityStand, wheel size, wheel locks, handles or fixed installation.

Separate items into required, optional and not required. This prevents a reference photograph from being treated as the complete accessory list.

7. Describe the installation environment

State whether the cage is indoors, under a roof, exposed to wind-driven rain, fully outdoors, near the coast, close to a swimming pool or in another demanding environment. Include floor condition, shade, drainage and nearby walls, doors, cables or air-conditioning outlets.

For a wall-mounted cage, identify the wall material if known and send a full photograph. Also provide the desired installation height, clear side for a sliding acrylic frame and the total space needed to pull the waste tray forward. Weak walls or lightweight partitions may need reinforcement or a freestanding solution.

8. Measure the delivery and assembly route

Record the smallest gate, doorway, lift opening and stair width. Photograph tight turns and landings. If a modular cage is requested, tell us who will assemble it and which normal hand tools are available.

For overseas enquiries, include:

  • Country, city and postal code.
  • Whether the destination is residential or commercial.
  • Whether a pallet or crate can be received and unloaded.
  • Any package-size or weight restriction imposed by the carrier or site.
  • Whether final-mile delivery, import clearance or installation must be arranged separately.

Freight, duties, taxes and currency conversion are confirmed separately from the shared WooCommerce product price.

Use a documented workshop example as a starting point

ExampleConfirmed referenceDo not assume
Compact flight cage50 × 30 × 30 cm; fixed; 1.8 mm bars; approximately 10 mm spacing. That the same gap suits another bird or that every accessory is included.
Modular flight cageApproximately 80 × 38 × 50 cm; detachable; approximately 12 mm reference spacing.Assembly time, package size or a universal species list.
Tall parrot cage60 × 60 × 150 cm; 304 stainless steel; solid 3 mm bars.Clear spacing, internal size, lock type, weight or packed dimensions until confirmed.
Five-compartment parrot systemFive compartments, each 50 × 50 × 80 cm; 3 mm bars; approximately 19 mm reference spacing; separate trays.Suitability for every parrot or electrical compatibility in another country.

What happens after you send the information?

  1. Feasibility review: Bật Mạnh checks whether the requested cage and route are practical.
  2. Questions and alternatives: missing dimensions, unsafe assumptions or conflicting features are identified.
  3. Specification: material scope, dimensions, bars, construction, doors, trays and included items are recorded.
  4. Commercial confirmation: price, deposit, production time, packing and delivery arrangement are confirmed before fabrication.

Discuss the bird, cage and installation space

Send the bird species, target dimensions and clear photographs for an early technical discussion. Overseas transport is reviewed separately and is not presented as a standard checkout service.
