How Bật Mạnh Builds Custom Stainless Steel Bird Cages

How we turn the bird, usable space, bar layout, construction, cleaning access and delivery route into one buildable 304 stainless steel cage specification.

  • Written for bird owners and cage planners
  • Uses documented Bật Mạnh examples
  • Unknown specifications are not guessed

A custom bird cage should be specified as one working system. The bird, usable interior, bar layout, doors, locks, waste trays, construction method and delivery route all affect one another. Bật Mạnh reviews these decisions together before a made-to-order cage is fabricated.

We start with the bird—not a generic cage size

A common name alone is not always enough to set a cage specification. We ask for the accepted species name, quantity, adult size and clear photographs where necessary. The same outside dimensions can require different bar spacing, door gaps, perch positions or lock strength for a white-eye, bulbul, shama, dove or parrot.

The intended routine matters as well. A compact cage used for supervised periods, a long flight cage, a full-time parrot enclosure and a multi-bird aviary do not solve the same problem. We therefore separate the intended use from the appearance requested in a reference photograph.

Information that changes the design

Bird species and quantity · intended use · external size limit · minimum usable interior · bar diameter and clear spacing · doors and locks · tray direction · installation and delivery access.

External dimensions and usable interior are not the same

Overall width, depth and height help determine whether a cage fits the room and delivery route. They do not automatically describe the space available to the bird. Stands, wheels, decorative roofs, play tops, seed guards, tray housings and external feeders can all increase the outside envelope.

For a fully documented product, we aim to state both measurements:

MeasurementWhat it tells the buyerWhat must be excluded or explained
Overall dimensionsFit in the room, doorway, lift, vehicle or freight package.State whether the stand, wheels, roof, handle or guards are included.
Usable interiorClear room for the bird, perches, feeders and movement.Do not count space below a floor grille or inside a tray housing.
Door openingBird transfer, accessory access and cleaning reach.Measure the clear opening, not only the outside door frame.

Where an older source product does not contain all three measurements, the English page states what is known and asks the workshop to confirm the missing values. We do not derive hidden dimensions from photographs.

What “304 stainless steel” means on a Bật Mạnh specification

Bật Mạnh fabricates its current cage range in 304 stainless steel. Each product page should also state which components the description covers—for example the frame, bars, waste tray, stand or selected fittings. We do not assume that every removable accessory supplied by another manufacturer has the same material grade.

The specified 304 structure can remain in its natural metallic finish or receive powder coating when the customer requests colour. The quotation should state both the substrate and finish, identify which parts are coated and describe accessories separately. Read the natural-finish versus powder-coated 304 guide before choosing from appearance alone.

304 stainless steel is corrosion resistant, not “rust-proof.” Surface condition, deposits, cleaning chemicals and the installation environment still matter. Salt-laden coastal air, pool chemicals and persistent damp contamination are more demanding than normal indoor or covered use. Tell us if the cage will be installed near the coast, a swimming pool or an aggressive industrial environment so the suitability and maintenance requirements can be discussed before ordering.

Routine care should use a mild, suitable cleaner, clean water and a non-abrasive cloth or pad, followed by thorough rinsing and drying where practical. Avoid unverified claims such as “medical grade,” “marine grade,” “food grade,” “lead-free,” “zinc-free,” “passivated” or “electropolished” unless the exact product has supporting records.

Fixed welded and modular construction serve different projects

Compact cages can benefit from a rigid fixed-welded body when the completed product can pass through the access route and be transported economically. Long flight cages and larger enclosures often benefit from detachable sections that can be carried, packed and joined at the final location.

Fixed welded

Fewer assembly decisions

A one-piece body provides rigidity with fewer joints to check. It is most practical when the finished cage fits through every doorway and can be protected during transport.

Modular / detachable

More practical for long cages

Separate sections can reduce the size of the largest item carried into the site. Joint alignment, fasteners, tray guides and support points must still be checked after assembly.

See the complete welded versus modular bird-cage guide before choosing a construction only from a photograph or freight price.

Bar diameter, clear spacing and secondary gaps

Bar diameter and bar spacing describe different things. Diameter relates to the physical bar; clear spacing is the open gap between adjacent bars. A buyer needs both values, preferably in millimetres and inches for international comparison.

The main bar field is only the first check. We also review gaps around:

  • Main and service doors.
  • Feeder openings and removable bowls.
  • Waste trays and floor grilles.
  • Dividers, detachable panels and assembly joints.
  • Decorative sections or bar transitions.

One spacing should not be assigned to every species in a broad bird group. The workshop examples shown on Longchim.vn are references for those configurations, not automatic recommendations for a different bird.

Doors, locks and cleaning access are part of the structure

A door is not complete merely because it opens. Its clear size, position, hinge movement, latch and surrounding gaps must suit the bird and the care routine. Parrots require particular attention to latches and bird-accessible fasteners because beak strength and problem-solving behaviour vary widely.

Waste trays, floor grilles, acrylic guards and feeder doors should be planned before the frame is finalised. A removable tray must have enough clearance to come out in the installed position. Long cages may need divided trays so each section remains practical to lift and wash. Wall-mounted cages require front or deliberately clear side access because the rear surface cannot be reached like a freestanding cage.

What is checked before a custom specification is released

  1. Identity and use: the bird, quantity, routine and installation environment are recorded.
  2. Envelope: the overall size, usable space and delivery constraints are compared.
  3. Bird-facing details: bars, secondary gaps, doors, locks, perches and feeders are reviewed together.
  4. Daily care: tray movement, cleaning access, acrylic protection and removable parts are checked.
  5. Construction: fixed or modular structure, joint positions and supports are selected for the size and site.
  6. Commercial confirmation: included items, custom options, price and production time are agreed before fabrication.

For a modular order, the final documentation should also record the number of sections, assembly sequence, tools, people required and packed dimensions. These values are stated only after the selected configuration has been tested or confirmed; they are not copied from another cage.

Packing and international enquiries

Cage dimensions alone are not enough to quote international delivery. The final configuration determines the number of packages, gross weight, crate or pallet requirement and whether the destination can receive a large shipment. Taxes, duties, final-mile delivery and site unloading are separate questions that depend on the destination and freight agreement.

For an overseas enquiry, send the country, postal code, smallest access opening and whether a pallet can be received. Bật Mạnh will confirm what information is available for the selected cage before a delivery arrangement is accepted.

Prepare a useful first enquiry

Use our custom bird-cage quotation checklist. A complete first message reduces repeated questions and helps the workshop distinguish a fixed model from a genuinely made-to-measure project.
